Instructions

  • Divide the group into pairs.
  • Let each pair ask and answer the three questions below.
  • How did you get your name? (personal domain)
  • Do you like your name? (emotional domain)
  • What is the meaning of your name? (universal domain)
  • Ask who wants to share their ‘name story’.

Variant

  • Ask who wants to share the story s/he has heard.
  • Stress the importance of asking for permission to share someone’s story. Although it may seem like a mere formality, it underlines the sensitivity of dealing with personal stories.
